Samantha James is a historical romance and general romance fiction novelist who also writes under the pseudonyms Sandra Kleinschmit and Sandra James. She grew up in Joliet, Illinois, where she dreamed of becoming many things, but a writer was never on those lists. As a ten-year-old, she believed her destiny was to become an astronomer, only to change her aspiration to archeologist a few years down the line. When she started reading the Trixie Belden mysteries, she started thinking of becoming a detective, and when she got into the Cherry Ann series, she was convinced that she would become a nurse.
