He used to dream of drawing comics and writing stories while in class, just as he got lost in the likes of Berkeley Breathed, Stephen King, Bill Watterson, Clive Barker, Charles Schulz and Dean Koontz. During his teenage years and his twenties, he worked a range of clerical and retail jobs but never gave up the dream of becoming an author. During this time, he used to write “Todd and Penguin,” an online comic strip for the better part of a decade. It was in 2005 that he got his first cartooning and professional writing job as an editorial cartoonist and reporter for a small paper. He was having a good time until his paper was shut down and he believed the dream was dead. Soon after, he met Sean Platt who was a blogger and writer of similar things to what Wright was doing.
