This would be adapted into a film by the same name by MGM in 1957. He was also a writer on one episode of the television series ‘Climax!’. He was born on September 10, 1917 in Custer City, Oklahoma. He was the youngest out of five children. Born to a minister, he attended the University of Oklahoma. He would then serve in the U.S. Navy as an officer during World War II, serving in Europe and the Pacific. Once he had graduated from University, he would work for The Daily Oklahoman, based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
