Wilkie Collins

Coming back to England, he went to Cole’s boarding school, and finished his education in the year 1841, and after he was apprenticed to the tea merchants Antrobus & Co. in the Strand. His first short story, called “The Last Stage Coachman”, was published in Illuminated Magazine in August of 1843. In the year 1846, he became a law student at Lincoln’s Inn, and was called to the bar in 1851 however he would never practice law.
