Wendy Vella

Wendy Vella is a bestselling historical fiction and romance author from Auckland New Zealand that also writes novels under the pseudonym, Lani Blake. She is a lover of all things romantic and at a very young age, she began reading romances from the likes of Georgette Heyer. It was from such reading that she would fall in love with the Regency era.

The best place to start is The Langley Sisters series, the earliest of Wendy Vella's multi-book series: it opens with Lady In Disguise (2014) and runs to 7 books across 2014–2020, ending with The Lady's Forbidden Love (2020). Wendy Vella's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Wendy Vella has 82 books catalogued in this guide, published between 2013 and 2026. 74 of them belong to 10 named series — the largest being the Sinclair and Raven series with 12 books — and 8 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Wendy Vella's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are The Langley Sisters (2014–2020, 7 books), Lake Howling (2015–2021, 8 books) and Lords of Night Street (2015–2018, 4 books), plus 7 more.

This guide splits Wendy Vella's 82 books into 10 named series and 8 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: Sinclair and Raven (12 books, 2016–2026); Wedding Wager (11 books, 2023); The Duke Brothers (8 books, 2023–2026); Lake Howling (8 books, 2015–2021); Ryker Falls (8 books, 2017–2023), plus 5 further series.
