Virginia Smith

Virginia Smith is comparatively the best Christian, fiction, and contemporary author. She has authored thirty-one novels, several children books, articles and other numerous short stories. Before venturing into full-time writing, Virginia Smith was a corporate director.

The best place to start is The Classical Trio series, the earliest of Virginia Smith's multi-book series: it opens with A Taste of Murder (2008) and runs to 3 books across 2008–2009, ending with Scent of Murder (2009). Virginia Smith's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Virginia Smith has 166 books catalogued in this guide, published between 2006 and 2026. 150 of them belong to 16 named series — the largest being the Chocolate Shoppe Mysteries series with 24 books — and 16 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Virginia Smith's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Just As I Am (2006–2008, 2 books), The Classical Trio (2008–2009, 3 books) and Sister to Sister (2008–2010, 3 books), plus 12 more.

This guide splits Virginia Smith's 166 books into 16 named series and 16 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: Chocolate Shoppe Mysteries (24 books, 2017–2018); Amish Inn Mysteries (23 books, 2016–2018); Mysteries of Blackberry Valley (20 books, 2025–2026); Irish Tearoom Mysteries (13 books, 2026); Extraordinary Women of the Bible (12 books, 2024), plus 11 further series.
