Later attending Arundel School, she would go on to receive her A-Levels there, before going on to study medicine at Cambridge University in England in 1977. Leaving after three years due to the racism she received, she would go on to teach, before studying medicine at the University of Zimbabwe. Working as a copywriter for a marketing agency, she would turn to writing, reading many of the classics of English and African literature, before becoming the successful writer she is today.
