Tim Pratt

Tim Pratt Author Tim Pratt was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on December 12, 1976 to a hardworking single mom that was an avid reader, particularly of horror. He spent his summers with his great-grandma, who stocked the guest room of her house with books on the shelves, all science fiction and fantasy. After he read himself through both of these houses, he started looking for science fiction, horror, and fantasy while on his own.

The best place to start is the Forgotten Realms Stand-Alone series, the earliest of Tim Pratt's multi-book series: it opens with Prince of Lies (1993) and runs to 11 books across 1993–2012, ending with Venom in Her Veins (2012). Tim Pratt's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Tim Pratt has 202 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1993 and 2026. 132 of them belong to 11 named series — the largest being the Forgotten Realms: Pathfinder Tales series with 73 books — and 70 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Tim Pratt's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Forgotten Realms Stand-Alone (1993–2012, 11 books), Forgotten Realms: Pathfinder Tales (1999–2026, 73 books) and Marla Mason (2007–2018, 15 books), plus 6 more.
