Author Teresa Mummert grew up in a small town located in Pennsylvania, and it was here that she started dating the man she would later marry. They were only sixteen years old when they began dating, and were married at the age of eighteen. They would also move down to Louisiana, as her husband started his career in the military. They live in the state of Georgia with their four kids. She began writing stories while her husband was deployed over in Afghanistan, and used it to get away from the fact that he was fighting in a war. She found that it could quite therapeutic for her to write; as it allowed her to have an outlet for what she was feeling and helped her stay busy. She says that she always enjoyed writing, usually short stories or poetry.
