Susan Krinard

If you like stories with a dark and cold hero, this book is for you. It will not be long before the heroine breaks the hero’s wall down and create something magical. The werewolf theme gives this book an edge, and it is sweet how a beautiful woman dedicates her time and energy to try and heal a wounded soul.

The best place to start is the Val Cache series, the earliest of Susan Krinard's multi-book series: it opens with Prince of Wolves (1994) and runs to 3 books across 1994–1996, ending with Prince of Shadows (1996). Susan Krinard's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Susan Krinard has 43 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1994 and 2017. 31 of them belong to 8 named series — the largest being the 19th Century Werewolf series with 8 books — and 12 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Susan Krinard's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Val Cache (1994–1996, 3 books), 19th Century Werewolf (1999–2011, 8 books) and Fane (2002–2009, 4 books), plus 5 more.

This guide splits Susan Krinard's 43 books into 8 named series and 12 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: 19th Century Werewolf (8 books, 1999–2011); Nightsiders (6 books, 2013–2017); Fane (4 books, 2002–2009); Midgard (4 books, 2013–2016); Roaring Twenties Vampire/Werewolf Trilogy (3 books, 2007–2008), plus 3 further series.
