Stuart Woods

In his personal life, Woods loves to fly, having his own planes and he still sails regularly on his own private yacht. He had married before but it ended in divorce and little is known about this marriage. He has stated that he preferred to live the life of a bachelor, but in 2013 he fell in love and married Jeanmarie Cooper.

The best place to start is the Barrington Universe series, the earliest of Stuart Woods's multi-book series: it opens with Chiefs (1981) and runs to 91 books across 1981–2023, ending with Obsession (2023). Stuart Woods's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Stuart Woods has 200 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1977 and 2027. 189 of them belong to 8 named series — the largest being the Barrington Universe series with 91 books — and 11 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared.
