Stephen worked in Britain and Australia as a copywriter, senior advertising agency executive, and as a graphic designer. He was an independent marketing consultant for a number of years, running the Australian operations of an American market research company before he moved to Noosa Heads, and then on to the Tamar Valley in Tasmania, where he was born, and now writes full time. Stephen’s debut novel, called “Finklestein’s Miracle”, was released in the year 1989. He writes scientific nonfiction, children’s novels, and biographies, with much of his work dealing with military history ranging from Roman, Greek, and Persian times to American nineteenth century history and World Wars I and II. He is considered an authority on the legions of ancient Rome, as well.
