Like many novelists, Sandy loved writing from when she was still very little. It was while she was in middle school that she got interested in writing and began penning short stories. This would ultimately turn into a love for short biographies and poetry writing before she got into fiction writing. Appleyard would progress over the years writing better and better manuscripts until she published her debut work of fiction The Message in Dad’s Bottle novella in 2010. It was after she had written her first two works that Sandy started believing that she had it in her to become an author.
