Ross King is a historical fiction and nonfiction author who was born and brought up in Canada, even though he has been a resident of England since 1992. In this extraordinary novel, he showcases a magnificent tapestry of the day-to-day workings of the scaffolding at the Sistine Chapel and also the upheaval outside during the 16th century. Like many authors who write about European historical fiction, Ross King has an amazing knowledge of European cultural history. Earlier on, he intended to go into academia and got an English Literature degree from the Toronto-based York University. After he was done with his fellowship, he was lucky to get a contract for his first manuscript that would become his debut novel “Domino.”
