Robin Jarvis is a bestselling English illustrator and author who is best known for the “Deptford Mice” series of novels. From a very early age, he used to come up with characters that he would then draw onto sketch pads and then make stories to accompany those illustrations. Robin would ultimately make use of that method in coming up with his novels as he made his characters first and then developed a story around them. It was in 1988 that he began writing and in 1989 he published “The Dark Portal,” his debut novel and the first of the “Deptford Mice” series of novels.
