Robert Thorogood is a screenwriter and author that is best known for creating “Death in Paradise”, a murder mystery series airing on BBC 1. Robert was educated at Uppingham School in Rutland and he read History at Downing College, Cambridge. While he was at Cambridge, he toured with Footlights, the university’s student comedy troupe, in 1993 and was elected President in 1994. Shortly after leaving Cambridge, he set up a theater company which toured small schools and theaters. The highlight of which was a production of Moliere’s The Miser, which he directed and acted in along with David Mitchell, Robert Webb, and Olivia Colman.
