Phillip Schott is an author born in Germany in 1965. His family emigrated to Canada a year later. The author grew up in Saskatoon, going back to Germany regularly to visit. He attended The University of Saskatchewan where he studied biology before switching over to veterinary medicine. Once he graduated he moved to Winnipeg with his classmate and Lorraine, his future wife. He took a year to backpack around the world but other than that he has been with the same Winnipeg small animal practice since 1990. Scott writing began with first a travel blog and then a vet blog. His first book to come out was titled The Accidental Veterinarian, which was a collection of non-fiction stories inspired by his practice.
