Philip Roth was a bestselling American author who wrote novels and short stories. A National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winner, Roth died in 2018. The author remembers being particularly intelligent and witty yet also quite humorous. A former student of Bucknell University (Pennsylvania) from where he got his Bachelor’s Degree in English, and the University of Chicago from where he acquired his Masters in English Literature, Philip knew he wanted to pursue writing from a relatively early age. And even after he left college, his talents were such that he was called upon to teach at the University of Chicago’s writing program.
