Paul Doherty

Dr. Paul Doherty is one of the prominent English authors of his time who has written some very interesting books based on the historical mystery and thriller genres as well as some critically acclaimed nonfiction history books. He was born on September 21, 1946 in Middlesbrough, The United Kingdom and underwent basic schooling as a child and then went on to study for the Catholic Priesthood for three years at Durham. But, he decided not to proceed with it and rather joined the Liverpool University, thereby obtaining his degree with First Class Honors in the subject of History.

The best place to start is the Hugh Corbett series, the earliest of Paul Doherty's multi-book series: it opens with Satan in St Mary's (1986) and runs to 28 books across 1986–2025, ending with Prince of Murders (2024). Paul Doherty's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.
