Nancy Springer

Nancy Connor Springer is an American author of young adult, fantasy, science fiction, mystery and thrillers novels. She’s written five book series and more than fifty novels over nearly four decades writing career. Her books have been nominated, and others won awards in different categories.

The best place to start is The Book of Isle series, the earliest of Nancy Springer's multi-book series: it opens with The White Hart (1979) and runs to 5 books across 1979–1983, ending with The Golden Swan (1983). Nancy Springer's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Nancy Springer has 113 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1979 and 2026. 38 of them belong to 9 named series — the largest being the Enola Holmes series with 6 books — and 75 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Nancy Springer's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are The Book of Isle (1979–1983, 5 books), John M. Ford Short Story Collections (1987–2004, 4 books) and Sea King (1987–1988, 3 books), plus 5 more.
