About Mordecai Richler

Mordecai Richler was a published Canadian author, essayist, and screenwriter. He was born in Montreal in Quebec, Canada on January 27, 1931, and passed away July 3, 2001. He is known for writing working-class Jewish background based stories, such as The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz or Saint Urbain’s Horseman. Some people may know him more for his 1997 work Barney’s Version. His book Solomon Gursky Was Here was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 1990.
