Marjorie M. Liu

Marjorie majored in East Asian Languages and Cultures and minored in Biomedical Ethics at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. During her undergrad years, she worked on her web design skills by designing this fan site called “The Wolverine and Jubilee” page after she discovered so many X-Men fan sites which she admired. Even though she’d never read comics as a child, she was familiar with the X-Men through the animated TV show and through fan fiction.

The best place to start is the X-Men Adventures series, the earliest of Marjorie M. Liu's multi-book series: it opens with The Irresistible Force (1994) and runs to 10 books across 1994–2007, ending with The Return (2007). Marjorie M. Liu's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Marjorie M. Liu has 91 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1994 and 2027. 75 of them belong to 14 named series — the largest being the Dirk & Steele series with 12 books — and 16 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Marjorie M. Liu's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are X-Men Adventures (1994–2007, 10 books), Dirk & Steele (2005–2011, 12 books) and Crimson City (2005–2011, 10 books), plus 11 more.
