About Marcel Proust
Marcel Proust was a published French author. He was born on July 10, 1871 and passed away on November 18, 1922. Marcel was a French novelist and many know him today for his 3,000 page novel Remembrance of Things Past, also known as In Search of Lost Time. It was a somewhat autobiographical novel that was told to the reader in a stream of consciousness style. Young Marcel was born in the first year of the Third Republic. Just like the narrator in his writing, Marcel was a ‘delicate’ child who came from a bourgeois family. Marcel was active in Parisian high society during the eighties and the nineties, and was a welcome figure to many of the most exclusive and fashionable salons of his day.
