Louie Stowell

Some of her favorite books when she was a child were this book about a vegetarian vampire titled “Vlad the Drac”, “Just William”, a space epic titled “Halo Jones”, “Lord of the Rings”. Louie loves comics of all sorts and fact books about the environment and space. She used to write fact books, but it is a lot of work, to be honest, so she has just allowed the truth to slide on by and make things up now.

The best place to start is the Big series, the earliest of Louie Stowell's multi-book series: it opens with Big Book Of Stars & Planets (1872) and runs to 17 books across 1872–2018, ending with My First 100 Words (2018). Louie Stowell's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Louie Stowell has 144 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1872 and 2025. 117 of them belong to 8 named series — the largest being the Usborne Young Reading 1 series with 53 books — and 27 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared.
