Kerry Greenwood

First published through Mandarin Press in 1995, this was to be the second in the series of Kerry Greenwood's 'Delphic Women' series of novels. Continuing the themes and ideas of the first, this further establishes the world and the tone that came before, building upon the foundations that were previously laid down. Part of a trilogy of novels, it's an ideal book for anyone wanting to look into early entries into the career of this author and to those hoping to gain further insight into her development as a writer.

The best place to start is the Three Days series, the earliest of Kerry Greenwood's multi-book series: it opens with Feral (1988) and runs to 4 books across 1988–1997, ending with Cave Rats (1997). Kerry Greenwood's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Kerry Greenwood has 72 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1988 and 2025. 49 of them belong to 9 named series — the largest being the Phryne Fisher series with 23 books — and 23 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Kerry Greenwood's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Three Days (1988–1997, 4 books), Phryne Fisher (1989–2025, 23 books) and Delphic Women (1995–1997, 3 books), plus 6 more.

This guide splits Kerry Greenwood's 72 books into 9 named series and 23 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: Phryne Fisher (23 books, 1989–2025); Corinna Chapman (7 books, 2004–2019); Three Days (4 books, 1988–1997); Delphic Women (3 books, 1995–1997); Stormbringer (3 books, 2005–2006), plus 4 further series.
