About Julie Cohen

Julie Cohen Julie Cohen grew up in the mountains in the west of Maine. The town was small and the paper mill emanated a strong surfer scent; it was called the smell of money. She spent many hours walking from her house up the hill to the library, back and forth with her nose in a book. She had a goal on becoming a writer and was excited to finally have her own books on the shelves of the Rumford Public Library. Now she lives in the south of England and gets teased about her “accent”. Brought up in the mountains of Maine, there wasn’t too much to do so she started making stuff up. With her nose constantly in books, at eleven years old, she was inspired to write her first novel using a spiral-bound notebook. She earned her English degree with honors, summa cum laude, from Brown University in
