Jo Ann Brown

Jo Ann Brown is one of the many pen names that popular romance author Jo Ann Ferguson uses to publish some of her work. She began publishing under this name in the year 2013, when “The Dutiful Daughter” was released. Under this name she publishes: the “Amish Spinster Club” series, the “Sanctuary Bay” series, the “Amish Hearts” series, and the “Matchmaking Babies” series, as well as some stand alone work.

The best place to start is the Patchwork Mysteries series, the earliest of Jo Ann Brown's multi-book series: it opens with Family Patterns (2010) and runs to 27 books across 2010–2013, ending with Something Borrowed (2013). Jo Ann Brown's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Jo Ann Brown has 127 books catalogued in this guide, published between 2010 and 2026. 124 of them belong to 13 named series — the largest being the Patchwork Mysteries series with 27 books — and 3 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Jo Ann Brown's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Patchwork Mysteries (2010–2013, 27 books), Secrets Of Mary's Bookshop (2012–2014, 25 books) and Sanctuary Bay (2013–2014, 3 books), plus 10 more.

This guide splits Jo Ann Brown's 127 books into 13 named series and 3 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: Patchwork Mysteries (27 books, 2010–2013); Secrets Of Mary's Bookshop (25 books, 2012–2014); Hearts of Amish Country (24 books, 2025); Love in Lancaster County (12 books, 2024); Amish Hearts (7 books, 2015–2017), plus 8 further series.
