Jeff Strand

Jeff Strand is an American author from Tampa Florida best known for writing award-winning horror and comedy novels. Strand was born in Baltimore in Maryland but the family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska when he was still an infant and hence he does not remember much about Baltimore. Growing up in the cold reaches of Alaska, all he wanted was to be a cartoonist or make video games.

The best place to start is the Encyclopocalypse Movie Tie-In series, the earliest of Jeff Strand's multi-book series: it opens with Hardcore (1979) and runs to 27 books across 1979–2025, ending with Virus: Hell of the Living Dead (2025). Jeff Strand's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Jeff Strand has 181 books catalogued in this guide, published between 1979 and 2026. 63 of them belong to 7 named series — the largest being the Encyclopocalypse Movie Tie-In series with 27 books — and 118 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Jeff Strand's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Encyclopocalypse Movie Tie-In (1979–2025, 27 books), Wolf Hunt (1997–2020, 3 books) and Andrew Mayhem (2000–2020, 6 books), plus 3 more.
