Despite entering the writing world relatively late in her life, she has received a wide variety of awards and recognition over the years. Her work has been published in Southwest Review, StoryQuarterly, Blackbird, Kansas Quarterly, Chattahoochee Review, 64 Magazine, Quarterly West, and Shenandoah among many others. She has won awards Best American Short. Janet Peery is the author of over 4 books across 2 series.
