Jack L. Chalker is an American author of fiction. Born 1944 and passed in 2005, he was most well-known for writing his science fiction novels. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, where he grew up. Chalker attended the local Baltimore City College and went on to Towson University in Maryland, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in English. He earned his MLA from Johns Hopkins University after graduating from Towson. After college, Chalker got a job as a teacher educating high school students in history and geography in the Baltimore City School system. He was married and had two sons. Chalker belonged to the Washington Science Fiction Association and also had a part in the founding of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society. Jack L.
