Heather O’Neill is a published Canadian novelist. She is also a screenwriter, a poet, short story author, and a journalist. She wrote the screenplay for the 2000 movie St. Jude. Her short story The End of Pinky was adapted into a 2013 animated short. O’Neill was born in Montreal. Even though she was born up north, she spent a great deal of her childhood growing up in the States in the south. She went to McGill University. Heather currently resides in Montreal once more along with Jonathan Goldstein, her partner. Heather’s first novel was released in 2006. It was entered into the competition Canada Readers in 2007 and won. It would go on to be nominated for several other awards, winning some, and sold many copies, becoming a best seller around the globe.
