G.R. Jordan

When the body of a young woman is discovered at the water edge on the Isle of Lewis, this unlikely duo swings into action. It has been twenty years since Macleod set foot on the island, he called home after losing his wife. Coming back to the site where he lost it all trigger feelings that Macleod thought he had put behind him.

The best place to start is the Austerley & Kirkgordon series, the earliest of G.R. Jordan's multi-book series: it opens with Crescendo! (2015) and runs to 4 books across 2015–2019, ending with Ship of Doom (2019). G.R. Jordan's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

G.R. Jordan has 98 books catalogued in this guide, published between 2015 and 2026. 96 of them belong to 14 named series — the largest being the Highlands & Islands Detective series with 52 books — and 2 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. G.R. Jordan's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Austerley & Kirkgordon (2015–2019, 4 books), Austerley & Kirkgordon Origins (2015–2018, 3 books) and Island Adventures (2017, 1 book), plus 11 more.

This guide splits G.R. Jordan's 98 books into 14 named series and 2 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: Highlands & Islands Detective (52 books, 2019–2026); Kirsten Stewart Thrillers (12 books, 2021–2023); Seoras Macleod Mysteries (5 books, 2026); Austerley & Kirkgordon (4 books, 2015–2019); Siobhan Duffy Mysteries (4 books, 2023–2024), plus 9 further series.
