Duane grew up on a farm just outside of Petersburg, Illinois. All that time spent driving a tractor gave him plenty of time to allow his imagination to run wild and not tear up too much equipment. Besides a love of westerns, the two passions he acquired were the love of reading books and playing guitar. For a number of years he worked as an IT consultant and kept being a songwriter and part time musician. He dabbled in writing short fiction with the idea in the back of his mind that he’d write a novel someday.
