Born in the Suburbs of Washington, Dhonielle Clayton spent most of her childhood weekends at the local comic book store. During the evenings, Dhonielle Clayton could be found beneath her grandmother’s dining room table, more than determined to finish a pile of books. After completing high school, Dhonielle Clayton joined Wake Forest University, where she earned a BA in English. Immediately after earning her BA, Dhonielle Clayton became an English teacher for three years. Due to the fact that Clayton was mostly surrounded, she rediscovered her passion and love for children’s literature and even went ahead and earned a Master’s degree in young adult and children’s literature from the renowned, Hollins University. Currently, Dhonielle Clayton is working on young adult and middle-grade book pr. Dhonielle Clayton is the author of over 20 books across 8 series.
