Davis Dresser was an American author of fiction. He was born in 1904 and died in 1977. He has used many pen names in his time and wrote using the pseudonyms of Don Davis, Matthew Blood, Asa Baker, Anthony Scott, Kathryn Culver, Peter Field, Anderson Wayne, and Brett Halliday, as well as Hal Debrett. Davis Dresser is the creator and writer of the fictional series featuring detective Mike Shayne under the pen name of Brett Halliday. He gave those duties eventually of writing the books to fellow author Robert Terrall to continue. Under the name of Brett Halliday, Robert dutifully picked up where Davis Dresser had left off and went on to write over two dozen novels in the series. Dresser is the author of the Powder Valley Western series, which he penned under the name Peter Field. The series k. Davis Dresser is the author of over 87 books across 5 series. Their most famous work is the Publication Order of Powder Valley Books series, which has garnered millions of readers worldwide.
