The author was born in 1960 Detroit, Michigan and in 1961 he moved to Northern California. In 1983, he graduated from San Jose University with a bachelors in journalism. He then went on to work as a technology salesman, bartender, debt collector, and newspaper advertising salesman. He currently makes his home in San Jose, California where he lives with Heidi his wife and Haley and Austin their two children. Stanton got started writing in 2001 just as the dot.com bubble burst. It was terrible timing as he had previously quit a lucrative job to go work for a startup, since he had been offered significantly more money.
