Cindy Dees

Cindy Dees began flying airplanes at a young age while sitting on her father’s lap. Dees managed to get a pilot’s license before she received a driver’s license. When she was fifteen years of age, Cindy Dees decided to drop out of high school and decided to leave the horse farm that she had been raised in, so that she could be admitted to the University of Michigan.

The best place to start is the Blackjacks series, the earliest of Cindy Dees's multi-book series: it opens with Hot Soldier Down (2002) and runs to 6 books across 2002–2019, ending with Hot Soldier's Rescue (2019). Cindy Dees's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Cindy Dees has 178 books catalogued in this guide, published between 2002 and 2026. 169 of them belong to 29 named series — the largest being the Colton 911: Chicago series with 13 books — and 9 are standalone titles, collections or anthologies.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared. Cindy Dees's series do not depend on one another, so they can be started in any order; by start date they are Blackjacks (2002–2019, 6 books), Charlie Squad (2002–2006, 5 books) and Doctors Unlimited (2004–2015, 3 books), plus 25 more.

This guide splits Cindy Dees's 178 books into 29 named series and 9 titles that stand alone or appear only in collections: Colton 911: Chicago (13 books, 2021); Coltons of Roaring Springs (10 books, 2018–2019); Top Secret Deliveries (9 books, 2009–2018); H.O.T. Watch (8 books, 2007–2012); Medusa Project (8 books, 2005–2010), plus 24 further series.
