Chris Riddell

Chris Riddell is a renowned British writer, illustrator, and political cartoonist. He is a South Africa-born author of children's books and is particularly famous for his collaboration with author Paul Stewart for developing the books of The Edge Chronicles series. Riddell worked on the illustration part of this series, while Stewart looked after the writing part.

The best place to start is the Fun-to-read Picture series, the earliest of Chris Riddell's multi-book series: it opens with The Tough Princess (1986) and runs to 9 books across 1986–1988, ending with Esther's Trunk (1988). Chris Riddell's other series stand alone, so they can be read in any order.

Read each series in publication order — the numbered entries in each series follow the year each book first appeared.
