They are best known for writing bestselling fantasy and paranormal novels and mysteries as AS James. They came up with the concept of Cat Adams when they started working together in 1997. The name was derived from combining Cathy Clamp and CT Adams their two names into one. The two met when they were working as paralegals in a law officer. They would often grab lunch together at which they would talk about books and their love for reading and storytelling. Cathy always wanted to write a few titles on her own but they realized that together, they could come up with unique twists for their plots. They also realized that each one of them was great at different things.
