Barbara Jean Hicks is an educator, speaker, storyteller, and award-winning novelist who began her professional authorship career penning novellas and romance fiction. After she published more than a dozen novels and read an online review of one of her romance novels, she decided to switch to children’s picture books. The reviewer had said the romantic comedies were so silly that she needed to be a children’s fiction author. Lastly, they were the quintessential American family that loved going on road trips.
