While Stansfield doesn’t write exclusively in the LDS romantic fiction genre, her work in that genre has earned her praise for her ability to combine great storytelling with intense psychological depth as she tells of the human experience through the eyes of the LDS community. She also writes her books in a wide variety of time frames as well with novels set in the eighteenth century as well as novels set in the present day. One interesting writing technique that applies is the use of photographs. She has many photos of ordinary people or models and movie stars that she cut out of magazines that she uses to help her with her writing. She does this to avoid writing about the same types of characters in each of her books and instead uses the photos to help give the character’s th.
