About Angela Kelly
She first met Her Majesty by chance in 1992 when she was working as housekeeper to Sir Christopher Mallaby, then the British Ambassador to Germany. Months later Angela got a phone call where she was offered a job as the Queen’s own personal dresser. Angela started working for the Queen after she gained employment following an interview at Windsor Castle in 1994. She was responsible for the Queen’s clothes, insignia, jewellery, researching the venues for royal visits as well as the significance of different colors, so that she could create appropriate outfits for the monarch. In 2019, she announced that the Queen would wear only faux-furs. Angela and Alison Pordum (the Queen’s in-house dressmaker until 2008) founded their own fashion label, called Kelly & Pordum.
